Workshops & Resources

Practical Education for Real Authors

The publishing world is full of advice. Much of it is conflicting, outdated, expensive, or designed to sell the next service.

ASC workshops and resources are designed to help authors understand what matters now.

Workshop Topics May Include

  • Building an author platform without wasting money
  • Writing book descriptions that help readers buy
  • Understanding publishing options
  • What authors should know before paying for marketing
  • Using reviews responsibly
  • Creating a realistic one-year author plan
  • Preparing for a book launch
  • Building a reader list
  • Author branding and visibility
  • AI tools authors can use without losing their voice

ASC Resource Library

The resource library will grow to include articles, guides, checklists, workshop recordings, templates, and practical author tools.

ASC Membership & Community

Coming Soon

Membership Gives Authors Access to One Another

Authors often work alone. They write alone, research alone, revise alone, market alone, and try to make sense of publishing alone.

ASC membership is designed to change that.

Members gain access to a growing professional community of writers and authors who are sharing ideas, asking questions, celebrating releases, discussing opportunities, and building stronger careers together.

What Members Will Have Access To

As ASC grows, paid members will receive access to:

  • A professional author profile
  • Member-only community discussions
  • Opportunities and calls for submissions
  • Genre and career-stage connections
  • Workshop discounts or member workshops
  • Author resources and practical articles
  • New-release sharing opportunities
  • Peer connection for beta readers, critique partners, events, and promotion
  • Selected discounts on ASC services
  • Priority notice for future ASC programs

A Professional Community, Not Another Noisy Social Feed

ASC is not trying to become another Facebook group.

The purpose is practical connection.

Members should be able to find fellow authors, share useful ideas, learn from real experiences, and access opportunities that help them move forward.

Founding Membership

ASC is currently building its first national community of authors.

Founding members will help shape the early culture, discussions, programming, and opportunities within the Authors Success Center.

Author Verified

Build a Clear, Professional Author Identity

Author Verified helps readers, media professionals, educators, event organizers, booksellers, and fellow authors confirm key information about you and your work.

In a crowded marketplace shaped by AI-generated content, false profiles, spam, and conflicting online information, authors need a clearer way to establish a professional public identity.

What a Verified Profile Can Include

  • Author or pen name
  • Professional biography
  • Author photograph
  • Website and social links
  • Book listings
  • Genre and audience information
  • Links to reviews or ReadSafe Ratings
  • Event, speaking, or media information
  • Author Verified badge for approved use

What Verification Means

Author Verified confirms that ASC has reviewed and approved the profile information provided through the verification process.

It does not mean ASC endorses every book, opinion, service, or activity associated with an author.

Why It Matters

A professional verified profile can help authors create consistency across their website, social media, book listings, event materials, media requests, and reader outreach.

ReadSafe Ratings

Reader Guidance Without Censorship

ReadSafe Ratings are neutral, voluntary content ratings designed to help readers better understand the intensity and nature of a book’s content.

Readers, parents, librarians, educators, booksellers, and book clubs often want more information before choosing a book. ReadSafe provides that guidance without judging a book’s worth or limiting its audience.

What ReadSafe Ratings Consider

Depending on the book, a ReadSafe Rating may consider content such as:

  • Language
  • Violence
  • Sexual content
  • Substance use
  • Mature themes
  • Emotional intensity
  • Trauma, grief, or loss
  • Religious or spiritual themes
  • Political or social issues
  • Content that may require parental or reader discretion

What ReadSafe Is Not

ReadSafe Ratings are not censorship.

They do not determine whether a book should be banned, removed, restricted, or rejected. They simply help readers make informed choices.

Why Authors Use ReadSafe

Authors may use a ReadSafe Rating to:

  • Help readers understand their book before purchase
  • Offer useful guidance to parents, librarians, and educators
  • Add clarity to book descriptions and websites
  • Support responsible marketing
  • Build trust with readers who appreciate transparency

True Voice Reviews

Honest Reviews That Respect Authors and Help Readers

True Voice Reviews provides professional, reader-centered editorial reviews for authors who want more than empty praise.

A good review should help readers understand what a book offers: its story, writing, themes, strengths, audience, and reading experience.

It should also give authors meaningful language they can use in book listings, social media, media kits, newsletters, websites, and promotional materials.

What Makes True Voice Reviews Different?

True Voice Reviews is built on honesty.

We do not believe every book deserves the same rating or the same exaggerated language. We believe authors deserve a review that treats their work seriously and readers deserve clear information before they buy.

Our reviews are designed to be:

  • Professional
  • Reader-focused
  • Honest
  • Useful for marketing
  • Respectful of author intent
  • Clear about strengths and reader appeal

Available Review Options

Basic Review

A concise professional review suitable for book listings, websites, newsletters, and social media.

Premium Review

A deeper editorial review that examines writing, story, themes, strengths, reader appeal, and market positioning.

Premium Review Plus

A complete promotional package that may include a long review, short review, one-sentence review, marketing pull quotes, content notes, ReadSafe Rating, and selected promotional tools.

Important Note

A paid review is not a guaranteed positive review.

Authors submit their books knowing that ASC provides independent editorial opinions based on the work submitted.
