Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

Welcome to the Authors Success Center website. Authors Success Center is a project of Bourgeois Media & Consulting, LLC.

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Authors Success Center website, services, memberships, community areas, workshops, reviews, ratings, author profiles, promotional programs, and related offerings.

By accessing this website, creating an account, purchasing a membership or service, submitting materials, registering for an event, or participating in the ASC community, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree, please do not use the website or services.

1. About Authors Success Center

Authors Success Center provides author education, professional support, reviews, ReadSafe Ratings, Author Verified profiles, promotional services, workshops, resources, community features, and related programs.

ASC is designed to help authors make informed decisions, build visibility, strengthen credibility, and access practical resources.

ASC does not guarantee publishing success, sales, awards, media coverage, bookstore placement, literary representation, social-media growth, or any specific financial result.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase services, join a paid membership, or submit materials through the website.

Individuals under 18 may participate only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, where permitted by law and by the specific ASC program.

You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

3. Accounts and Memberships

Certain ASC features may require an account or paid membership.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate account information
  • Keep your username and password secure
  • Notify ASC promptly of suspected unauthorized account access
  • Be responsible for activity that occurs under your account
  • Maintain current payment information for recurring memberships, if applicable

Memberships may include access to member resources, author profiles, forums, workshops, discounts, community opportunities, or other benefits described at the time of purchase.

ASC may update membership benefits, pricing, availability, or structure as the organization grows. Material changes affecting active paid members will be communicated when reasonably possible.

4. Payments, Renewals, and Refunds

Fees for memberships, reviews, ratings, workshops, promotional services, contests, and other ASC offerings will be listed on the applicable service or checkout page.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Payment is due before services begin.
  • Memberships may renew automatically if you choose an auto-renewing plan.
  • You may cancel future renewal before the renewal date through your account settings or by contacting ASC.
  • Cancellation does not automatically create a refund for the current membership period.
  • Custom services that have begun, including reviews, ratings, promotional writing, video creation, consulting, or author-profile work, are generally non-refundable.
  • Workshop, event, or contest fees may have separate refund policies stated at registration.

ASC may issue refunds, credits, or rescheduling options at its discretion when a service cannot reasonably be completed as agreed.

5. Reviews, Ratings, and Editorial Services

True Voice Reviews, ReadSafe Ratings, Author Verified materials, and related ASC services are professional services based on the materials submitted and the standards of the applicable program.

By submitting a book, manuscript, excerpt, cover image, biography, or related material, you understand and agree that:

  • ASC may provide honest editorial opinions.
  • A paid review is not a guaranteed positive review.
  • A ReadSafe Rating is intended as reader-facing content guidance, not censorship or a judgment about a book’s value.
  • ASC may decline a submission that is incomplete, unlawful, abusive, plagiarized, or otherwise unsuitable for the requested service.
  • ASC may request additional information or materials before beginning work.
  • Editorial judgments, ratings, and review language are determined by ASC and are not subject to author approval unless a separate agreement says otherwise.
  • ASC does not guarantee that reviews, ratings, badges, or promotional materials will increase sales, visibility, rankings, awards, or media interest.

Authors remain responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to submit all materials.

6. Author Verified Profiles

Author Verified is intended to help readers, industry professionals, and the public identify authors and related book information through an ASC profile or verification process.

Verification does not mean ASC endorses every statement, book, opinion, product, service, or activity associated with an author.

ASC may deny, suspend, remove, or update a verification status if:

  • Information is false, misleading, incomplete, or outdated
  • The author violates these Terms
  • The author engages in fraud, harassment, plagiarism, impersonation, or unlawful activity
  • ASC reasonably believes continued verification could harm users, readers, or ASC’s reputation

7. Community Standards

ASC may offer member profiles, discussion forums, directories, comments, groups, messaging, workshops, and other community features.

You agree not to post, upload, share, promote, or distribute content that:

  • Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, or obscene
  • Infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights
  • Includes spam, scams, deceptive promotions, malware, or unauthorized commercial solicitation
  • Impersonates another person or organization
  • Shares private information about another person without permission
  • Encourages violence, self-harm, illegal activity, or exploitation
  • Includes plagiarism or material you do not have the right to use
  • Disrupts the community or interferes with other members’ use of ASC

ASC may remove content, limit access, suspend accounts, or terminate membership access when these standards are violated.

ASC is not responsible for opinions, advice, recommendations, posts, or materials shared by members, guest contributors, authors, or third parties.

8. Your Content and Submitted Materials

You retain ownership of original materials you submit to ASC unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

By submitting materials, you grant ASC a limited, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, display, format, and distribute those materials only as needed to:

  • Provide the requested service
  • Create your author profile, review, rating, or verification page
  • Promote an approved ASC service or program
  • Display submitted or approved book information, covers, biographies, reviews, ratings, or promotional content
  • Maintain business records and archives

You represent that you own or have permission to use all submitted materials, including text, images, covers, photos, trademarks, excerpts, and other content.

You agree to protect ASC from claims arising from materials you submit without proper rights or permission.

9. Intellectual Property

The Authors Success Center name, logo, branding, website design, written resources, program names, graphics, videos, templates, reviews, ratings, workshop materials, and other ASC-created content are owned by or licensed to Bourgeois Media & Consulting, LLC unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, republish, sell, or create derivative works from ASC content without written permission.

You may share links to ASC pages and approved promotional graphics, reviews, badges, or materials provided for your use, as long as you do not alter them in a misleading way.

10. Workshops, Events, and Programs

ASC may offer online or in-person workshops, meetings, conferences, contests, webinars, interviews, and other programs.

ASC may change speakers, schedules, locations, technical platforms, program content, or event details when reasonably necessary.

You are responsible for your own internet access, device compatibility, travel, lodging, and other costs unless specifically stated otherwise.

Recorded workshops or events may be made available to registrants, members, or ASC for future educational or promotional use. ASC will provide notice when an event is being recorded.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

ASC may link to bookstores, publishers, software companies, payment providers, social-media platforms, educational resources, event services, or other third-party websites.

ASC does not control and is not responsible for third-party websites, services, content, policies, availability, security, or transactions.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

12. No Professional, Legal, Financial, or Publishing Guarantees

ASC provides educational, editorial, promotional, and author-support services.

Information provided through ASC is not legal, tax, financial, accounting, medical, mental-health, literary-agent, or guaranteed publishing advice.

Authors are responsible for making their own business, publishing, legal, and financial decisions. When needed, consult qualified professionals in the appropriate field.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bourgeois Media & Consulting, LLC, Authors Success Center, its owners, contractors, partners, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the website, services, memberships, community features, workshops, reviews, ratings, or promotional materials.

ASC’s total liability for any claim related to a paid service will not exceed the amount you paid ASC for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bourgeois Media & Consulting, LLC and Authors Success Center from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use of ASC services or community features
  • Materials you submit or publish through ASC
  • Your violation of another person’s rights
  • False, misleading, or unlawful information you provide

15. Suspension or Termination

ASC may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account, membership, access, or service participation if you violate these Terms, fail to pay required fees, misuse ASC systems, harm other users, submit unlawful materials, or otherwise create risk for ASC or its community.

If access is terminated because of a Terms violation, refunds are not required.

You may stop using ASC services at any time. Any ongoing service work, membership period, or payment obligation remains subject to the terms accepted at the time of purchase.

16. Changes to These Terms

ASC may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date. Continued use of the website or services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

For significant changes affecting active paid members, ASC may provide notice through email, account notices, or the website.

17. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute relating to these Terms or ASC services will be handled in the appropriate courts located in Texas, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
